Extended Remote ViewingÂ
Instructor: Amaris Jane MSW
4 weeks
Week 1 — Methodology and Protocol. Students will explore what Extended Remote Viewing (ERV) is, how it was designed, and the protocols used to structure an ERV session. Various approaches and methods will be introduced, with attention given to preparation, induction, target selection, observation, and documentation. Each class will include two inductions followed by target work, allowing students to begin developing practical familiarity with the process.Â
Week 2 — Roots & Patrons
This week examines the historical development of ERV, including its early benefactors, researchers, and institutional supporters. Students will explore the ideological, cultural, and intellectual movements that influenced its development, including parapsychology, altered-state research, and broader consciousness traditions. Induction and target work x2
Week 3 — The Hypnagogic State & Mystical Traditions
Students will investigate the hypnagogic state, including the transition between waking and sleep and the imagery and sensations that can occur during this threshold state. The class will also explore how mystical, esoteric, contemplative, and New Age traditions have influenced ideas surrounding ERV and altered states of consciousness. Induction and target work x2
Week 4 — Modern Lenses on ERV
The final week considers how ERV is conceptualized in the modern era and examines different perspectives on its practice and interpretation. Students will explore its potential strengths and limitations while considering issues such as methodology, interpretation, expectation, bias, and the distinction between personal experience and empirical evidence. The week concludes with two target-work exercises, followed by reflection on the student's experiences throughout the course
