Intro to Shamanism - the Paranormal Academy With Angela Thompson Smith
"While our current scientific paradigm does not include the study of shamanism, this fascinating vocation is commonly accepted in many cultures around the world. There is a need in our modern society to reconnect with this valuable ability, that can enrich both ourselves and our communities. This course will introduce the student to the fundamentals of shamanism, some of the researchers, historical text, examples, and exercises that give the student an introduction to the field of modern shamanism."
Angela Thompson Smith began her shamanic path in the Celtic southwest of England where she was born and raised: spending summers playing around the stones at Stonehenge and Avebury and visiting other sacred sites. She always felt a connection to the Earth, Nature, and the Seasons. In 2010 she trained with Vision Seekers: Hank Wesselmann and Jill Kuykendal, training up to the advanced level in modern shamanic practice. From 2010 to 2020 Dr. Smith was a registered shamanic minister with the Circle of the Sacred Earth. She also took graduate courses in shamanism at Saybrook Graduate School.
