"Psychokinesis - - “movement from the mind” is often abbreviated as PK. The term was coined by Alexander N. Aksakof and Henry Holt and was adopted by Joseph Rhine who carried out much of the early PK research. PK can be defined as “Direct influence of mind on a physical system that cannot be entirely accounted for by the mediation of any known physical energy.” Other terms that have been used in place of PK have been Telekinesis or TK, Mind over Matter, Intentionality, Action at a Distance, Remote Influence or RI, Bio-influence, and Anomalous Perturbation."

Dr. Smith worked as a member of staff at the PEAR Laboratory at Princeton University from 1998 through 1992 where she participated in Human-Computer Interaction. Her Ph.D. Dissertation study included a replication of the PEAR RNG work. She also studied PK at Saybrook Graduate School. She learned Spoon Bending from Jack Houck and has taught many groups. Her personal experiences with PK were documented by Dr. Pamela Rae Heath in her book “Mind-Matter Interaction.”
